WE CHESS
Fall 2011- Spring 2012
porcelain, brass, bronze, wood

The pieces of this porcelain gendered erogenous zone chess set were cast from life. The pawns are nipples, the rooks are anuses, the knights are big toes, the bishops are fingers, and the queens are tongues. The king on the male side is my partner’s penis, and the king on the female side is a cast of the interior of my vagina, composited with a cast of my vulva.
Each piece is also wearable. Players can adorn themselves with these “spoils of war” as they win and take pieces, slowly taking on the body parts of their opponent and becoming hyper-gendered creatures. The nipples are rings, the anuses are brooches, the toes are charms, the fingers are bracelets, the tongues are pendants and the penis and vagina are large medallions with chain-mail.

WE CHESS was featured in the Kinsey Institute 2012 Juried Art Show.

A few components of the WE CHESS set are currently for sale in the store.
